Mr. McGowan is a telecommunications industry veteran with over 40 years of experience. He has served on the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (“CTIA”) Board of Directors, and has been instrumental in launching several successful telecommunications business ventures, including Dial Call, Integrated Northcoast and McLang Cellular. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Portugal Telecom. A former United States Ambassador to Portugal, Gerry was a founding principal of the predecessor law firm Lukas, McGowan, Nace & Gutierrez, where he practiced telecommunications law for over 20 years. His background includes serving as Clerk to Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas G. Kavanagh and Assistant to the late U.S. Senator Phillip A. Hart. In addition, Gerry served on the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (“OPIC”). Gerry received a B.S from Georgetown University, followed by a Law Degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
