J.K. Hage III advises public and private utility, energy, communications, business and technology clients, and others, in the areas of business organizations, new ventures, strategic planning, capital formation, information security, sustainability mergers, acquisitions, negotiation of transactions, succession and estate planning. Mr. Hage is of counsel to Lukas, Nace, Gutierrez & Sachs LLP, a Washington, D.C. communications law and engineering firm. Mr. Hage has initiated numerous business ventures including Independent Wireless One Corporation (aka U.S. Unwired), a national Sprint PCS affiliate and was the organizer and the first Executive Director of the Griffiss Institute, an independent 501 (c)(3) market driven national collaboration of industry, the academy and government dedicated to applied research, training, and services in information security.

J.K. Hage III is an entrepreneurial activist investor and has extensive personal experience on public, private, profit and non-profit boards and management teams. He serves as a director of the national Economic Crime Institute. He is a member of the Albany Law School Board of Trustees, the Albany Law School Center for Innovation, and the Herkimer County Community College Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, and a member and former chair of the Multicultural Committee of the Hamilton College Alumni Council, and The Cornell University R2G Project Core Committee. He is also a member of the City of Utica Municipal Power System Commission, the Downtown Utica Development Association, and the City of Utica Arterial Committee. Mr. Hage is a member of the Glimmerglass Opera Board of Trustees, and he and his family are active in, and benefactors of, numerous educational, cultural and other charitable organizations and civic ventures.

J.K. Hage III is a frequent lecturer in the areas of business organizations, mergers, acquisitions, succession and estate planning, telecommunications regulation, energy, sustainable practices and green initiatives. Mr. Hage speaks for numerous industry and professional organizations such as the New York State Telecommunications Association and the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Hage is a licensed real estate broker and has extensive experience in real estate development and construction.

J.K. Hage III is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Oneida and Herkimer County Bar Associations, the New York State Bar Association Committee on Public Utility Law, the New York State Bar Association Committee on Trusts and Estates, the New York State Bar Association Committee on Continuing Legal Education and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Mr. Hage is active in numerous industry associations, including the New York State Telecommunications Association, the New York State Municipal Electric Utilities Association and the New York Municipal Power Agency.

J.K. Hage III, a 1978 graduate of Albany Law School, attended Hamilton College and Oxford University, England. Mr. Hage completed all but his thesis for a Ph.D. in Romance Languages at New York University and the University of Madrid; he is fluent in Spanish. He is the recipient of numerous academic honors and was engaged as an instructor at Albany Law School while still a student himself. In addition, Mr. Hage was first oralist on the National Moot Court Trial competition team at Albany Law School. Mr. Hage has worked as an actor and has won numerous public speaking awards.

J.K. Hage III was admitted to the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Court Northern District of New York in 1979, the Alaska Bar in 1985, and the U.S. Court of Appeals Second Circuit in 2010.
